| Resmi Jaimon |
I am married to Jaimon and we live in Kochi with our daughter. A native of Kochi, I did my school and college in Thiruvananthapuram, where my parents and brother still reside.
An incomplete description of what I do and what I've done. I write about several topics except politics!
Travel
One of my favourite topics and since I also like to travel, this is one area I would like to write more. I am compiling a couple of ebooks related to travel - in various stages, at the moment. I have travel stories / travelogues / travel how-to's published in in-flight magazines, travel magazines, newspaper supplements, coffee-table books, websites and portals.
Technology
With graduation and multiple long-term diplomas in computer applications and software engineering, I've keen interest in technology. I have technology articles published in EFY's information technology (i.t) and BenefIT. I continue to write about technology for another national computer magazine - including interviews, profiles, website reviews and features on technology.
Business & Trade
Business has always been my favorite topic as I grew up in a business background. I have written business related topics and I am open to writing on any topic that requires intensive research. The best example I could point out for my expertise in research and writing, when I wrote for Composite Manufacturing (U.S), an internationally circulated trade magazine, read by top-level management team and experts all over the world. I worked for them for two years - researching and writing about a topic I never knew till then - Indian Composite industry. Roop too contributed his photography skills for Composite Manufacturing.
Lifestyle, Real Estate, Food & Cooking, Sports
I have covered these topics for several publications. Between 2005 and 2008, I was a regular contributor of The Hindu's Property Plus. With keen interest on interesting happenings related to lifestyle and passion for cooking (vegetarian), I write on these topics too. Also, I am compiling multiple reports / ebooks on cooking/recepies, to be uploaded in the "Buy" section of this blog, as soon as the manuscript is complete.
Volvo Ocean Race's Stopover in Kochi - December 2008
I wrote multiple articles when Volvo Ocean Race touched the Indian shores for the first time in Asia - I was fortunate to have got the chance to witness a mega event such as Volvo Ocean Race in my hometown, Kochi. I spent six days at the venue including when the teams started their next leg and when Ericsson 3 arrived in Kochi. I also interviewed one of the best sailors, Bouwe Bekking, skipper, Telefonica Blue. During the period, I maintained http://kochi-volvo.blogspot.com/. I also contributed a travelogue to "Anchor Cochin," a coffee table book brought out by Cochin Port Trust, in connection with Volvo Ocean Race event.
Chicken Soup for the Soul (Indian series)
I have contributed several stories for Chicken Soup for the Soul (Indian series) - Chicken Soup for the Indian Teenage Soul, Chicken Soup for the Indian Woman's Soul, Chicken Soup for the Indian College Students, Chicken Soup for the Indian Friends Soul (all published) and to be published titles - Chicken Soup for the Indian Couples Soul, Chicken Soup for the Indian Teenage Growing Up and Chicken Soup for the Indian Business Soul .
Writing Books
Four of my works have appeared in Weekly Writes: 52 Weeks of Writing Bliss! (under the name 'Resmi Shaji') - published in 2004 and Writer Profits: How I Got the Gig (Vol 1) - published 2007.
