It is official !

Finally, after 4+ years of marriage, I have changed my name officially. My surname will now be my husband’s name, instead of my father’s. Henceforth, I will be known as “Resmi Jaimon” officially (so far, it's officially, Resmi Shaji!). The notification was published in gazette early this month.

Let my announcement for the first story published in 2009 be about the one titled "Old Meets New" in Jetwings (January 2009). Jetwings is the in-flight magazine of Jetairways. So, you are flying in Jetwings, you have a chance to read my article (page 178 - 180)! The story concentrates on what's a Nalukettu and Ettukettu (the traditional designs of Kerala architecture) and its modern forms, which is widely popular, especially with the higher-income segment.

Sixth Anniversary (Freelance Writing)

January 13th, is a day I can never forget, as it's the day when my first article "The Neo Homework" was published as the lead story in The Hindu's Metro Plus (Thiruvananthapuram). Taking Stock - 2008

A week more to go, but less chance of seeing more stories in print or online, except for may be two. This could be the best time to take stock. In 2008, I was published in 11 new publications - in India and abroad and 51 stories were published (most of them in print though some of them have online versions too). Apart from those published this year, I have written 18 more articles, submitted to different magazines in India. The topics include travel, technology and lifestyle. Additional two articles along with a series of photos were submitted for a coffee table book, scheduled to be published in March 2009. Another three articles were not published this year , of which one was an exclusive interview with a business family (it's supposed to have given me a good exposure, if published.. for a magazine I haven't worked earlier); trade article for a U.S magazine (all of a sudden the editorial team changed and they had new ideas!) and a real estate article for a U.S magazine (the e...

Website and Blog Popularity

My website ( http://www.resmijaimon.com/ ) has finally touched 4000 visitors mark today! Amazingly, the blog on Volvo Ocean Race Cochin Stopover ( http://kochi-volvo.blogspot.com/ ) is also gaining popularity – atleast it so, seems to me! Yesterday, I got the highest number of visitors – around 125. And the total has reached 919. I started posting regular posts less than a month back and the blog has 50 posts.
